Gloria passed through heavens gate at the age of 65 after a 6 week battle with a ruptured brain aneurysm and it’s complications. She spent the last of her earthly time at her home in Shalimar, Florida surrounded by her loved ones and all of her favorite things. We are saddened by Gloria’s passing but grateful that she is at peace and free of her bodily limitations.
Gloria was greeted at heavens gate by her mother and father, Lucille and David Crews. She is leaving behind her loving husband of 42 years, Richard Bauer; their son, Ian Crews Bauer; her daughter-in-law, Jessica Bauer; and granddaughter, Amelia Crews Bauer. She also leaves behind her sisters, LouAnn (Charles) Thompson, and Karen (Larry) Medsker; her brother, Dave (Jean) Bailey; her mother-in-law, Doris Bauer; sisters-in-law, Diana (Marc) Doty, Theresa (David) Vaughan, and Juliet (Chris) Braly; and brothers-in-law, Robert (Dorothy) Bauer, and Russell Bauer; and many nephews and nieces that will all miss her dearly.
Gloria was also part of many clubs and organizations throughout the community. She helped start Aurum Jewelry Studio, which remained a source of joy throughout her life. She was a founder of the Shalimar Library and served there for 25 years. She was a beloved part of the community and the friends she made during her years serving the community will thoroughly miss her as well. We encourage those who knew her to remember her perpetual smile, her contagious laughter, and her beautiful and loving spirit. She was an incredible wife, mother, nana, sister, daughter, and friend. We have all been so lucky to know and love her. And she was blessed to know and love you.
Her celebration of life will be held at the Fort Walton Yacht Club on January 23, 2022 from 4pm-6pm. We encourage all who attend to wear bright colors in her honor. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Impact 100, PAWS, or Shalimar Library so her legacy as a servant of the community can live on through us.
