Geovannie Figueroa Sánchez, affectionately known as Geo, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at the age of 38 at the North Okaloosa Medical Center in Crestview, Florida.
Geo was born on November 6, 1986, in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, to Juana Sánchez and Ernesto Perez. He was united in marriage to Taquishia Reenee Paster on October 16, 2007, in Gainesville, FL.
A loving husband and father, Geo is survived by his wife, Taquishia Paster; his children, Vanessa, Geo, Jr., Selah, Jose, and Izaiah; and his sisters, Jennifer and Dayanara. He was preceded in death by his mother, Juana Sánchez; father, Ernesto Perez; and brothers, Fernando and Gamiel.
Geo’s journey through life took him across many places, including Puerto Rico, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and Alaska. He was proud to earn his GED in his foster home in Jacksonville, FL and worked hard to build a life for his family.
Known for his infectious personality, Geo had a passion for sports, especially basketball, boxing, and football. He spent many hours watching games, sharing laughs, and making memorable jokes. His favorite sayings, such as his elongated “huh” or “suki suki now,” often lightened conversations, bringing smiles to all who heard them.
In his own way, Geo was always a beacon of light, even during the most difficult of times. He was quick to lend a hand to others and ensured that everyone around him was cared for. His legacy of love, humor, and kindness will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Geo’s presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him.
