Georgia W. Wood took her final journey to Heaven on June 30, 2025 surrounded by her family at her home in Destin, Florida. She was 89 years old.
Georgia was born on July 31, 1935 to Cora Lee and Harvey Walling in Winnsboro, South Carolina; she grew up with three sisters: Margaret, Helen and Liz. There she met her loving husband, Jim, and they embarked on a journey traveling the United States and having three daughters. Georgia was a homemaker and devoted mother. She was very involved in her church for the majority of her life.
Georgia is survived by her three daughters: Melanie, Sherri and Erika; her two sons-in-law: Joe and Luis; three grandchildren: Justin (Emily), Kaitlyn and Meghan; three grand pups: Lilah, Gracie and Theo; her brother-in-law, George (Norma); and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her sisters and their spouses: Margaret (Jake), Helen, Liz (John); and her parents, Cora and Harvey.
The service for Georgia will be held at a future date yet to be determined.
