George Hufford, Jr. Obituary

Mr. George Thomas Hufford, Jr., 68, passed away on May 29, 2025, in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. Born on January 19, 1957, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, George lived a life marked by service, strength, and unwavering compassion.

George proudly served his country for 24 years in the United States Air Force as a Flight Medic. His military career included tours during Desert Storm and in Panama, where he provided critical care and support to those in need under the most challenging conditions. His dedication to his fellow service members and his country was a defining chapter of his life.

Following his retirement from the Air Force, George continued to serve others through his work as a Master Electrician for 25 years. Whether wiring homes or offering guidance to apprentices, he brought the same precision and integrity to his civilian career that he had shown in uniform.

George was known not only for his professional accomplishments but also for the way he made people feel—seen, heard, and understood. He offered comfort without judgment (most of the time), always ready with wisdom or advice—even when it wasn’t asked for. He had an uncanny ability to say exactly what someone needed to hear. Though at times stubborn and admittedly a pain in the ass, George’s authenticity and deep care for others were never in question. He gave more than he took and would do anything for anyone.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughters and their spouses: Jeanine and Dave Crepault of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; Jennifer Hufford of Niceville, Florida; Candance Jade Ruth Byers and Ahmed Doukani of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Sarah and Tyler Davis of Niceville, Florida. George was a proud grandfather to 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.

He is also survived by his mother, Barbara Hufford; siblings, Robert and Carol Hufford of Mount Top, Pennsylvania; Deborah Banks of Hanover, Pennsylvania; Barbara and Jay Brennan of Hunlocks Creek, Pennsylvania; Edith Donnelly of Davenport, Florida; Albert Hufford of Kingston, Pennsylvania; and Allen Hufford of Kingston, Pennsylvania.

George was preceded in death by his father, George Thomas Hufford, Sr., as well as brothers, William Hufford and Richard Hufford.

George’s legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, strength, humor, and unshakable sense of duty. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
