Floyd Ray Cobb, 84, of Jay Florida passed away peacefully after a two-year battle with lung cancer on Monday, September 11, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born September 20, 1938, in Milton, Florida. Floyd retired with Exxon, which took him to California, Wyoming and overseas. He was an avid fisherman and bird hunter. Enjoying keeping his garden year around, he just loved being outside.
Floyd is preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila Hendricks; his parents, Joseph and Ila Mae Cobb; a sister, Gladys Hagler; and three infant brothers.
Floyd is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Annette Blackmon Cobb, of Jay, Florida; a daughter, Rebecca (Bruce) Watson, of Jay, Florida; a son, Michael (Julee) Cobb of Green River, Wyoming; grandchildren, Jessica Grantham, Brittany Urnick, Brandon (Kelsey) Urnick, Averee Cobb, Grant Cobb and Brant Watson; and two great-grandchildren; Callie Grantham and Tate Urnick. He is also survived by a sister, Helen Bray; a special nephew, Gary Hagler; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Brant Watson, Brandon Urnick, Bruce Watson, Gary Hagler, Kevin Macht and Rick Weekes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Epps, Jeff Roberts, Wayland Nowling, Tink Kelley, Doyle Shell, Jimmy White and Frank Green
The family would like to thank his special nurses and social worker, Paige Baxley, Sandy and Linda of Emerald Coast Hospice for their loving care.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 15, 2023 beginning at 12:00 p.m., at True Worship Assembly of God, 13297 highway 87, Jay, Florida with Pastor Adam Peterson officiating. A time of visitation will begin two hours prior from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Committal services will follow at Concord Cemetery.
