Finis Blackburn

Finis Blackburn, age 89, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2022, at Sacred Heart on the Emerald Coast in Miramar Beach, Florida. He was born May 4, 1933, to Lonzo Blackburn and Martha Coleman Blackburn in Pompey, Kentucky.

Finis proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for twenty years and later retired from the Civil Service. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time. When Finis was younger, he liked working in his yard and growing a small garden in the summer.  He was a wonderful husband of sixty-eight years to his wife, Shirley, and together they raised two sons and a daughter. Finis was a simple man who always planned ahead for his family's future. He is loved very much and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; daughter, Melissa and her husband; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 17, 2022, in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida, beginning at 3 p.m., with Reverend Walt Campbell officiating. Committal services will follow at Magnolia Cemetery of DeFuniak Springs.
