Everett McClain Obituary

Everett Blaine McClain, age 84, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025, in Crestview, Florida.  He was born August 21, 1941, in Doddridge County, West Virginia to Ira Everett and Myra B. Stuttler McClain. A proud veteran, Everett served with honor in the United States Air Force, dedicating twenty-two years of his life to protecting his country. His commitment to service instilled in him values of discipline, loyalty, and a profound sense of duty, which he carried into all aspects of his life. Those who knew Everett would often describe him as a man who would do anything for anyone at any time. His generous spirit and loving nature were evident in everything he did. He had an unwavering love for his family, which was the cornerstone of his life. Everett was a man of many interests and hobbies. He found joy in fishing, relishing the tranquility of the water and the thrill of the catch. He also enjoyed playing darts, a passion that earned him a place in the West Virginia Darts Hall of Fame, showcasing his competitive spirit and dedication to the sport. His love for cars was evident as he spent countless hours working on them, and he was a devoted fan of NASCAR and football, often gathering with family and friends to watch the games.

Everett was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy A. McClain.

He is survived by two children, Sonya A. Rogers and Christopher McClain (Lisa); five beloved grandchildren; multiple great-grandchildren; and several extended family members and friends.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Barrancas National Cemetery beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Minister Joel Davis officiating. Honors will be provided by the United States Air Force.

Arrangements and services are under the direction of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home of DeFuniak Springs.
