Eric Divens

Eric “Divey” Divens, a longtime resident of Destin, Florida, passed away on December 17, 2025. He was deeply loved and will be forever remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength, incredible cooking skills, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Eric was a devoted father, family member, coach, and friend. He had a rare gift for making people feel supported, valued, and genuinely cared for. His presence brought comfort and steadiness, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He found great joy in his family, faith, football, fishing, cooking, and his community, and he embraced each day with gratitude, purpose, and humility.

Eric, a former member of the Troy Football Team, proudly served as the Fundraising Coordinator and Assistant Football Coach at Destin High School, roles he cherished deeply. He loved what he did every day, seamlessly combining his knowledge of sales and football to support the school and its athletes. He was always there for the team, willing to step in wherever he was needed, never seeking recognition, only results. Being part of Destin High School and the greater Destin community was not just important to Eric; it was a core part of who he was.

Above all else, Eric was a “girl dad”. His three daughters were the pride and joy of his life. He led them with love, a hardworking mentality, and unwavering support, always encouraging them to be strong, kind, and confident. He was their protector, friend, and guide through life, and his love for them was evident. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled in them and the bond they will always share.

Eric is survived by his three daughters: Kylee Branson (Kalen) of Niceville, Florida, Kaylin Divens of Boynton Beach, Florida, and Mya Divens of Destin, Florida; his mother, Patty Divens; his father, Ted Divens (Joyce); and his sister, Jessie Builta-Paradise.

A service to honor Eric’s life will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. at Village Baptist Church.

Eric’s love, guidance, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, we find comfort in knowing he is at peace and watching over those he loved.
