Elzie Lena Watson Duke, age 73, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at her home, surrounded by loved ones. She was born December 13, 1947 in Doerun, Georgia to the late Leonard Comodore and Lena Bell Massey Watson. Being saved for many years, she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Elzie treasured and appreciated every gift that anyone gave her, no matter how big or small. She enjoyed vacationing in the mountains, going to the beach, playing bingo and shopping. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family. She cherished every moment with her children and grandchildren. Although she was quick to get onto them all when they messed up, she would always let them know how proud she was of each of them.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and six siblings.
Elzie is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Charles Duke; seven children, DeWayne Duke and wife Tammy, Greg Duke and Rebecca Jose, Ricky Duke and wife Becky, Randy Duke, Tim Duke and Sherry Forrester, La Costa Newsome and husband Patrick, all of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, and Crystal Wright and husband Ryan of Manchester, Georgia; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of services, a time of visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2021 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433.
