Edward “Lamar” Williams, age 66, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home on September 8, 2025 at 8:54 p.m. Lamar was born on April 17, 1959 in Albany, Georgia to Jerry and Alice Williams.
A proud graduate of Terrell County High School, Lamar later served in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant with the 96th Communications Squadron at Eglin Air Force Base. Lamar was a man of many passions.
He loved fishing, gardening, grilling, and, above all, music. He had an infectious love for life, always surrounded by friends and family who appreciated his open-hearted nature. He never met a stranger, and his generosity knew no bounds. Lamar was known for his willingness to lend a hand, always giving the very shirt off his back to those in need. His family was his pride and joy, and he will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Lamar is survived by his mother, Alice Williams; children, Jason Williams, Debra Williams, Aleah Michael, Joanna Keith, and Dawn (Tony) Williams; grandchildren, Chloe, Grace Ann, Ethan, Siriniti, Salem, Sean, Alyssa, Tory, Dion, and Apollo; and siblings, Sandy (Terry) Atteberry, Jerry (Luisa) Williams, and Melvin Williams; as well as many beloved nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Williams; common-law spouse, TongJan “Noy” Kramer; and paternal and maternal grandparents, as well as his grandson, Austin Davis.
A Graveside service to celebrate Lamar’s life will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery.
