Today we celebrate the 68 years of Dwan Jones life. She passed away quietly into the arms of our Lord as she slept. She will always be remembered as a beloved Mother, daughter, sister and aunt to her loving family. Everyone who knew Dwan was drawn to her intelligence, kindness and spirited nature. Which led to many friendships and great stories throughout her lifetime.
Dwan faced many challenges in her life that she faced with courage and determination . Her greatest joys in her life were her family and friends, being a mother, her dogs and her job. Dwan valued study and education. She graduated second in her pre law class at the University of West Florida. She achieved this while working a full time job and being a single Mother.
She started her career as a server and worked her way to the top as a restaurant manager. She was loved and respected by her coworkers in every career she chose. She worked in security for several years and loved the stories and friendships she built with the residents. Anyone who knew Dwan knew that she loved her dogs. She would always have a little pack and rescued many dogs from terrible situations. Dwan was a woman of great faith from her teenage years until now. She loved and trusted God in all things. She carried her faith through all the challenges that life faced her with.Dwan made Fort Walton her home for 49 years and made her mark on the community and the hearts of everyone she knew.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Jones; brother, Mark Woolard and sister, Cindy Drumond as well as many cousins and nephews.
She will be missed by every life that she ever touched on her journey through life.
A Funeral service will be held at Delores Hope All Faiths Chapel, 92 Sunset Lane, Shalimar, Florida, 32579 on Friday, November 12, 2021, beginning at 11AM. A Visitation will begin two hours prior at 9:00am. There will be a reception back at Bob Hope Village immediately following the interment at Brooks Memorial Cemetery.
