Dr. James Clifford Lorbeck, D.D.S., age 85, of Destin, Florida, peacefully passed away on January 1, 2025. He was born on August 23, 1939, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin to the late Clifford Donald Lorbeck and the late Phyllis Barbara Konopacki Lorbeck.
Dr. Lorbeck was preceded in death by his daughter, Lauren Alise Lorbeck. He is survived by his loving wife, Judge Mary KK Norman Lorbeck; daughter, Lisa Ann Lorbeck Wight; stepson, John Hudson Norman, Jr.; stepdaughter, Caroline Norman Kirsch; grandchildren, Alexander James Wight, Katherine Loraine Wight, Kathryn Jolie Kirsch, and Linden Jefferson Kirsch; sisters, Lisa Ann Lorbeck Liebert, Kathy O'Connor Mullen; and brother, Donald McCann.
Dr. Lorbeck was a graduate of Marquette Dental School in 1963 and became licensed to practice dentistry in Wisconsin, Virginia, Michigan and Louisiana. He proudly served in the United States Navy as a dentist from 1963 until 1969, earning the rank of Lt. Commander. Dr. Lorbeck then practiced dentistry in New Orleans, LA, from 1969 until 2012, at which time he and his wife, Judge KK Norman, retired to Destin, FL. He was an avid republican, a long-distance bike-rider, and an amazing ballroom dancer. Dearly loved by his many patients, family and friends, words cannot express how much he will be missed.
Following the blessing of the ashes, he will be interred at Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans, Louisiana.
