Dr. Clyde Wasdin, Th.D Obituary

On April 3rd, 2024, at the age of 90, Dr. Clyde B. Wasdin laid down his armor and received his reward from his Lord.  He was born in Tampa, Florida in 1933 to James and Myrtle Wasdin.  The youngest of 4 children, 2 brothers, Roy and James, and sister, Lorraine Preston, who have all preceded him in death.

Clyde at the age of 16 met his cherished wife, Carolyn at a tent revival, where it was love at first sight.  He was convinced by his older brother to travel to West Palm Beach, Florida from Tampa after being told that there would be Hula Girls there.  But what he found was a Holy Girl instead of Hula Girl.  They married in 1953 and shared 65 years of great love and devotion until her passing in 2018.  Guided by their deep-rooted faith, their legacy can be summed up by their 60 years of ministry together and DEEP love of winning 1000’s of souls to the Lord.  Clyde had a captivating mixture of humor, truth, and compassion that opened hearts to receive Christ as their personal Savior.

He had the great pleasure of Pastoring 5 churches, in Florida, Georgia and California he was the President of four schools, traveled 40 nations doing conferences and crusades in four continents of the world.  He preached for Dr. Cho in Seoul, Korea (World’s Largest Church).  He was invited and preached to the Georgia State Senate as well as devotions for the U.S. Congress. Twenty-nine years in television and 12 years in radio, television guest for T.B.N., P.T.L., and Pat Robinson, won the coveted Angel Award in Hollywood for Christian Television.  Clyde served on the board of the “American Leaders for Middle East Peace”, led several tours in Israel and authored “The Church Must” Imperatives For A Dynamic Church.  Clyde also served as the Assistant General Overseer of The Independent Assemblies of God International from 1989 to present.

Clyde lost his father at the young age of 4, but his closeness to his Heavenly Father taught him to be such a wonderful daddy to his 4 daughters who will lovingly remember him: Melody Eilers, April Woltmann, Kimberly Mazza, and Eddie (Larry) Larson; 8 grandchildren, Chad (Erin) Herring, Alana (Mario) Mohan, Leslie (Brett) Williford, Caleb Mazza, Cameron (Casey) Mazza, Skyler Mazza, Jordan (Justine) Larson, Chelsea Larson and 11 great grandchildren.

Dr. Clyde also established the non-profit ministry outreach P.E.P. Institute (People Evangelizing People) as an ongoing legacy.
