It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Doyce Matthew Peacock, age 42, of Milton, Florida, who peacefully passed away March 20, 2025, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. Matt was born October 30, 1982, in Milton, Florida to Doyce Peacock and Betty Buhlman. They were beloved partners leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Doyce Peacock; grandmothers, Betty Chase and Eula May Stanford Peacock; grandfather, R.D. Peacock; three uncles, Mark Buhlman, Bradley Peacock, and David Peacock; one aunt, Linda Faye; and step-grandfather, Bruce Chase.
Matthew is survived by his partner, Jay Monson; mother, Betty Buhlman; stepmother, Sharon Peacock; stepfather, Patrick J. Brown Sr.; four sisters, Jacqueline Peacock, Holly Brown, Jessica Brown, and Becky Brown; brother, Patrick Brown Jr.; two aunts, Terri Buhlman and Kate Peacock Carroll; three uncles, Gene Buhlman, Dearl Peacock, and Jimmy Dale Peacock; thirteen cousins, Nicole, Nick, Kaye, Rick, Barbara, Little David, Katrina, Drennan, Jamie, Dylan, Sarah, Brian, and Michael; along with many other loved ones.
Matt had a deep love for nature. He loved planting flowers, raising chickens and playing with his cat Meeka. Favorite pastime was going with Jay searching for roadside treasures of tossed items waiting for Matt to repair or wave his magic to create something new. Matt had many talents in construction, mechanics and even sewing. He would often be seen painting, gluing, sewing while riding in the car. Matt was known for his generosity, kindness, and warmth. He was cherished by all who knew him. Throughout his life he touched many with his unique sense of humor, flair and infectious joy. He enjoyed time with family and friends and sharing favorite memories of times spent with family members passed.
His life has been a gift with his memory, vibrant love of life touching the hearts of all who knew him and will be a part of us forever.
