Douglas Watson Obituary

Douglas “Doug” Watson, age 75, often called “Pop”, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020 in Crestview, Florida. He was born February 27, 1944 in Walton County to George and Ella Watson.  Doug had logged the woods of Walton County since he was 15 years old. He enjoyed fishing and was Pentecostal by faith.  His family have many precious memories of all the times he would them load up and drive to Lake Jackson in Florala, Alabama.  Every weekend, weather permitting, they would grill onshore and swim in the water. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ray, Billy, and Ralph Watson; and two sisters. Gladys Nowling and Linda Polston.

Doug is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Carol Watson; three sons, James Odom and wife Susan, Wayne Odom and wife Laura, and Anthony Odom and fiancée Diana Collier; four daughters, Kimberly McQuaig and husband Mark, Toy Ganey and husband Jesse, Deanna Smith and husband Tim, and Molly Moss and husband Kriss; one son-in-law, Jesse Lee; one brother, Tommy Watson; two sisters, Sadie Bankage and Georgeann Watson; twenty grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

In keeping with Doug’s wishes, he will be cremated with no services.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home and Crematory.
