Douglas Alto Jones

Douglas Alto Jones, 81, of New London, peacefully passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. Doug was born January 25, 1943, in Walton County, Florida to the late Howard and Eva Jones. Doug was the best dad, grandpa and great grandpa. To know him was to love him and he will be dearly missed by all those who knew him. He loved to garden and take care of his yard. Most importantly he loved all his grandchildren.

Doug was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Ann Jones in 2021.

He is lovingly survived by his children, Amy Jones of Albemarle, Kathy Phillips and her husband Nelson of New London, and Kevin Jones and his wife Ashley of Sumter, South Carolina. Those also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Kirk Schofield (Hailey), Nikki Williams, Joshua Phillips, Kelsey Phillips, Madison Jones, and Jackson Jones; great-grandchildren, Addie, Myles, and Daisy; sisters, Carolyn Rutherford, Janice McKee (Billy), and Peggy Miller (Terry); special sisters-in law, Wanda Wilkerson, Mary Jane Miller, and Sandra Melton (Mickey); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery, 2281 County Highway 2A, DeFuniak Springs, Florida beginning at 1:00 p.m.
