Douglas “Scott” Fryxell, 57 years old and a resident of Fort Walton Beach, FL passed away after a brief illness on September 13, 2020.  Scott was born on January 31, 1963 in Ft. Belvoir, VA to John and Ellen Fryxell.  He grew up in Heidelberg, Germany where he excelled in soccer and tennis and skied all over Europe.  In the late 70s his dad retired from the military and moved to Horizon City, TX.  While in Texas Scott attended high school and graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso where he majored in Criminal Justice and German.  While there he played on the golf team and was invited to join the soccer team formed by the German Luftwaffe stationed at Fort Bliss.  In 1988 he married his longtime girlfriend Leslie Todd who he had met playing golf at Horizon City.  They moved to Phoenix, AZ where Scott worked for Karsten Manufacturing in their Pro Tour division making PING golf clubs for tour professionals and various celebrities.  After visiting family in Fort Walton Beach, Scott got sand in his shoes and they moved there nine months later.  He worked locally for Edwin Watts Golf shops for many years and later became a property appraiser.  Scott eventually quit work to care for his aging parents.   He is survived by his wife, Leslie Fryxell of Fort Walton Beach and his mother Ellen Fryxell also of Fort Walton Beach, by his aunts and uncle and several cousins in Germany and Australia and his sister-in-law in Fort Walton Beach and brothers-in-law in Texas.  He leaves behind his beloved dogs Lexi and Molly who had him wrapped around their paws.
