Doris J. Grimmer

Doris J. Grimmer, age 85, a longtime resident of Fort Walton Beach, FL, went to be with the Lord and joined her husband, James T. Grimmer, and son, James “Jimbo” William Grimmer, in Heaven on October 19, 2020. 

Doris was born on June 10, 1935 in Coshocton, Ohio.  She was a devoted US Air Force wife and loved traveling the world.  She was an active volunteer with the Girl Scouts, American Red Cross and anyone who needed help.  She cherished her friends in the Santa Rosa Mall Walking Club.  Doris was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach and attended First United Methodist Church. Most of all, she loved her family and friends. 

Doris is survived by her daughters, Sarah Warren of Fort Walton Beach, FL, and Penny Midgley of Hilliard, OH; granddaughters, Sheli Warren Frank and her husband, Brandon, of Hershey, PA, and Mariah Midgley of Hilliard, OH; grandson, Ethan Midgley of Hilliard, OH; great-grandson, Aaron James Frank of Hershey, PA; and closest friend and sister, Mary Morgan of Fort Walton Beach, FL.

The family will receive friends at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 113 NE Racetrack Rd, Fort Walton Beach, FL, on Thursday, October 22, 2020 from 4 to 6 pm.  A funeral service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 8 am.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the American Red Cross or ASPCA, in Doris’ memory.
