Don Baugh, 79, of Mary Esther, Florida, went to be with his Heavenly Father on January 19, 2026. A man defined by hard work and an even bigger heart, Don’s life began in Albertville, Alabama, as the middle child of five born to Evelyn and Marcus (Jack) Baugh.
In high school, Don was a standout athlete in football, basketball, and track. His competitive spirit never faded, though it later shifted toward cheering for his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide and the Atlanta Braves.
Don married Brinda, the love of his life, in 1970. His work ethic was legendary. From his early days picking cotton as a sharecropper to his professional heights opening and managing the first Food World location in Florida, Don approached every task with a passion for excellence. However, his greatest "job" was his family. Whether before or after retirement, Don was a constant presence in the bleachers, never missing a sporting event or activity for his children and grandchildren. He was a remarkable husband, a dedicated father, and a proud grandfather.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Brinda; his daughter, Melinda Taylor (Matt); his son, Mark Baugh (Robin); and his three grandsons, Landon, Dalton, and Jackson. He is also survived by his brothers, Herald and Tommy and his sister, Regina Powell. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Danny.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Beal Memorial Cemetery in Fort Walton Beach.
