Donald Reece Lester

Donald Reece Lester, age 77, passed away marching in perfect stride to the beat of his own tune. He spent the last 16 years of his life missing his wife of 27 years, Vicky Lynn Lester (Barnes), who died at a too early age of 48. He took his last breath on May 29, 2020 in full peace with his boys by his side, knowing he was leaving this world exactly how he wanted to go.
 
He lived every single day with an unsung motto that you NEVER EVER borrow something without leaving it in better shape than it was when you borrowed it. He certainly lived this, even in death, as he left this ‘borrowed life’ a better place than it was when he borrowed it.

He is survived by his son, Brandon Lester and his son and daughter in law Bryan and Jessica Lester; grandsons, Carson and Brody; Brother, Charles and his wife Irene; a niece and nephew, Scott and Christy; his brother, Terry and Ophelia; and Terry’s two sons, Kerry and Skye; sister, Donna and her husband Mike and their two sons Todd and Matthew; sister, Sherry and her husband Danny and Sherry's daughter, Melissa and Son Daiven.
 
He spent all of his days doing exactly what he loved doing, which is helping people. He was always fixing, always working, always planning and always doing something for someone else. If he didn’t leave you with a smile on your face you weren’t capable of smiling, but as he would say "I am going to keep on being who God created me to be regardless of what anyone else thinks about it".
 
His wishes were to be cremated and for his boys to take him back to the very creek banks he played on as a child. He did not want a formal service so instead there will be a ‘traveling memorial’ planned so his immediate family can re visit his childhood stomping grounds which will conclude with a final destination where his wife was laid to rest 16 years ago.
