Donald Hurricane Jones

Donald Hurricane Jones of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away January 14, 2026, at the age of 65. Donald was born September 7, 1960, to Vernon and Estelle Jones in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. During his lifetime he achieved many accomplishments, but the best things in his life were all those close to him. He could bring a smile to your face by cracking a joke, lend an ear if you wanted to talk about anything, and no matter what, loved his family more than anything.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Estelle Jones; five brothers, Randy Jones, W.T. Bradley, Robert Jones, Chuck Jones, and Mike Jones; two sisters, Barbara Perrucci and Becky Bradley.

Donald is survived by his children, Christopher Jones, Joanna (Whaylond) Davis, Jessica (Monty Lollie) Jones, Breanna (Adam)Hargis, and Brittany (Thomas Godwin) Willis; his significant other of many years, Lisa Johnson; one brother, Richard (Gail) Jones; four sisters, Shirley (Bobby) Jones, Debbie Early, Sheila (Donald) Overton, and Betty Seagle; twelve grandchildren, Cadence (John) Burgess, Landon, Aidan, Zaelei, Gabriella, Lil Adam, Logan, Micah, Lindsey, Payton, Sophia, and Chloe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to his nieces, Kristy and Shelly Jones and his sister-in-law, Gail Jones for reaching out and helping us through this tough time and was always just a phone call away. Also, a very special thank you to the nurses and doctors at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center for being so great with my dad and keeping us informed every step of the way.

A time of visitation will be held Monday, January 19, 2026 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
