Donald “Donnie” Drake, age 74, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025. He was born September 24, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio. He and the love of his life, his wife Kathy Taylor Drake, of 50 years, built their life together in Florida. Donnie was known for his love of racing and all things automotive. You could often find him in his shop working on his latest project, which was most recently a 1952 rat rod.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his sons, Donnie (Vickie) and Craig (Lacey); his brothers, Rick, Billy, and Dan (Marlene); his sisters Donna, Bonnie (Walter) and Connie (Scott); and many grandkids, cousins, family and friends.
A celebration of Donnie’s life will be held Friday, February 21, 2025 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
