Diana Morse Swan

Diana Morse Swan, 80, of Miramar Beach Florida, passed away on May 24, 2023 from complications related to dementia. Diana was born on September 13, 1942 to David and Doris Hinks in Detroit, Michigan.

After Diana graduated from Grosse Pointe High School in 1960, she attended Hillsdale College. Upon graduating with a degree in Art History, she started her first job as a school teacher, later joining the staff of the Farmington Community Library in 1989 as the manager of the Circulation Department; a job she held until retiring in 2008.

In 1967, Diana married Philip Swan. Diana and Philip Swan went on to have two children, Philip and Sarah. In 2008, Diana retired and spent her time reading, gardening, and caring for her husband through several health crises. Diana was predeceased by her husband in 2015. She is survived by her son, Philip (Jennifer) Swan; her daughter, Sarah (Andy) Strauss; her grandchildren, Andrew and Elizabeth Strauss; and her siblings, Deb, Steve and Nancy Spitzley. 

Services will be held at the Great Lakes National Cemetery on July 21, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Association and to Farmington Community Library.
