Delores Willene Floyd

Delores Willene Floyd, age 70, of Valley View Community, passed away at her home on Monday, March 24, 2025. She was born April 28, 1954, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. She was the beloved daughter of J.C. Floyd and Velma Juanita Griggs Floyd. Delores worked for Walton County School District for 10 years, and later retired from the Florida Department of Corrections after serving 25 years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, and loved her niece and nephews as her own. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; and her brother-in-law, Tommy Goddin.

Delores is survived by her sister, Velda Goddin; her nephew, Darrell Goddin and wife Alicia; her niece, Donna Floyd and husband Alex; great-nephews, Jamey Goddin and wife Ilyssa, Jacob Goddin, Jaydn Goddin, Jayce Goddin, and Derek Floyd and wife Lacey; great-great nephews, Buddy Floyd, and Parke Goddin; one great-great niece Kinlee Owens; and one stepdaughter, Thelma Mahan.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 31, 2025, beginning at 3:00 p.m., at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, with Minister Joel Davis and Minister Kenny Montgomery officiating. A time of visitation will begin one hour before the service. Committal services will follow at Euchee Valley Cemetery.

As a loving tribute to their aunt, her nephews will serve as pallbearers: Jamey Goddin, Jacob Goddin, Jaydn Goddin, Jayce Goddin, Derek Floyd, Chris Griggs, Matthew Vann, and Will Smith.
