Debbie Paris Obituary

Debra Louise Paris, daughter of Bob and Sally Wharry, passed away at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center on September 25, 2025 after fighting a five-year battle with breast cancer.

Debbie was born in Natchitoches, Louisiana, then moved to Michigan in her early grade school years. Debbie graduated high school in 1975. Shortly after graduation, she went to cosmetology school seeking a profession as a hair salon specialist. Soon after, she realized her true calling was in the nursing field. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree, she continued this occupation for another thirty years. Her career soon brought her to Florida, alongside her mother, father, two sisters, and brother-in-law, and eventually led to her retirement in 2013.

Debbie often enjoyed outside activities such as fishing, camping, and traveling. Not only did she enjoy outdoors, but she also loved doing arts and crafts in the comfort of her home. Debbie used her strong guidance through faith in Christ to help contribute to her time as a guardian ad litem, advocating for abused children. She also played a large part in club functions as a leader in several groups in Crestview.

Debbie is preceded in death by her son, Aaron; her mother and father, Bob and Sally Wharry; and her sister, Laura.

She is survived by her loving husband, Chris Paris; her sister, Vicki Johnston (George); her brother, Steve Wharry; and three beautiful grandchildren.

Debbie will be missed greatly by all who knew her, specifically Kathy Fries, whom was a very big help to Debbie in regulating her emotions and supporting her with her daily activities through the entire process. Kathy’s support to Debbie will always be remembered as she lifted Debbie to find comfort in her final time of need.

Arrangements and services are under the care of Davis Watkins Crestview Memorial.
