David Howard Naber

David “Dave” Howard Naber, 79, of Crestview, FL went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 12th surrounded by friends and family.

Dave was born July 11, 1940 to Howard and Margaret Naber of Rochester, NY. After high school, he joined the Marines where he served for 4 years as part of the Black Sheep Squad. While in the Marines, he was stationed in Hawaii where he stayed and became a contractor and carpenter for over 20 years. He returned to Rochester, NY to take care of his parents. While in Rochester he was part of the carpenters union and worked with Dave Wurster. He then met the love of his life, Nita Marie Kelley. Dave and Nita were married on May 28, 1994 and later moved to Crestview, FL where they have lived for the last 15 years. Dave loved his family.  He was a family man to the core. The love and support he gave to family and friends was so special. Dave loved serving at Lifepoint Church as an usher and the faithful “Candy Man”.  He loved being a part of the Young At Heart group as well as the adult Lifegroup.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Margaret Naber and one step son Jeff Ingrahm. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Nita Naber; his children, John Naber, of Tampa FL, Nancy Naber, of Rochester, NY and Damon (Kukea) Naber of Hawaii; two grandsons of Hawaii; one sister, Pat (Jim) Ruliffison of Victor NY; one cousin, Dan Ryzga of Detroit MI; four stepchildren; Juanita (Ace) Bean of Claremont, FL, James (Debbie) Ingrahm Jr of Salisbury, NC, Jerry (Michelle) Ingrahm of Milton FL, Julie (Dave) Brown of Milton FL.; nine step grandchildren; fourteen step great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. 

Funeral services will be Monday, March 16, 2020 at 10am at Lifepoint Church. Burial will follow at 1:00pm at Barrancas National Cemetery. The visitation will be Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 5pm to 7pm at Lifepoint Church.
