Darien Todd Giddens

Darien Todd “Gid” Giddens, 54, of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida died February 14, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Giddens; his mother; Margaret Giddens; and his brother, Mark John Giddens. He is survived by his stepmother, Karen Giddens; his brothers, David and Kevin Giddens; sister, Bekki Cole;and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gid was born March 4, 1970, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He graduated from Southwood High School and attended Louisiana Tech University, where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Gid moved to Santa Rosa Beach almost 20 years ago.

Gid loved watching all sports, and especially loved the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. He absolutely was larger than life. He leaves behind so many great friends. Each one of these friends, no doubt, has at least one Gid story that ends in laughter (and maybe a shake of the head). It is not a stretch to say that everyone loved Gid. Once you met him, like it or not, you would not forget him. He even had “GID” stickers printed to hand out to people, as he told them “I’m kind of a big deal.” Indeed, he was.

A Florida celebration of Darien's life will be held at Local Catch Bar & Grill, 3711 W. County Highway 30A, March 1, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.. His friends and family in Shreveport are planning a celebration of life on April 5, 2025. The details will follow.
