Connie Ella Hodge (Connie-Mom to her family and friends) passed away on Tuesday, March 17 at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, surrounded by family and friends. She resided in Miramar Beach, Florida.
Connie was born October 16, 1937 near Fisk, Missouri to Robert Lee Brewington and Velma Warren Brewington. She married Robert “Bob” Earl Hodge on September 5, 1959, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She graduated from Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee with a degree in nursing. She subsequently worked as an RN for several years. Connie loved family and friends. She loved to travel and experience the world, enjoyed playing bridge, and playing Rummikub with her grandchildren. She appreciated good food and always liked a nice glass of wine. She loved her beautiful Emerald Coast beach.
She is survived by her son Michael Lee Hodge and his wife Peggy Jean Hodge; grandchildren Lindsay Michelle Bartlett, Lyle Robert Hodge and Eric Lee Hodge; 4 great grandchildren; siblings, Juanita Baxter, Ada Lee, Bobby Brewington; sister-in-law Sharon Parker and her daughter Catie; and niece Sherry Shearin and her daughter Emily McCombs.
She is preceded in death by her late husband, Robert Earl Hodge, a son Mitchell Earl Hodge, and siblings Wynette Williams and Anna Sue Jones.
A memorial service will be held in Miramar Beach once the current global health crisis has subsided. Connie elected to be cremated and have her ashes spread in the Gulf of Mexico where her late husband and other beloved family members were laid to rest.

Connie was a loving person who was true to herself and true to others. She fully embraced and enjoyed life. Her philosophy was always to be herself, speak her mind and maintain resolve. Radiating a sense of humor, she was a constant support to family and friends. She was greatly loved by a closely connected family and a lasting number of friends who will miss her dearly.
