Clara "Peggy" Rebecca Brooks

Clara Rebecca Brooks, known to her family and friends as “Peggy,” passed from this life Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at her residence. She was 85 years of age and a resident of Westville, Florida.  She was born May 29, 1935 in Pike County, Alabama to Huey Conley and Clydie Mae Barton Mancil.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Kathleen Warr and Connie White; and one brother, Huey Mancil, Jr.

Clara is survived by her husband of 69 years, Dallas L. Brooks; three daughters, Deborah Eldridge, Karen Kitchens and husband Dale, and Rebecca Register and husband Ken; four grandchildren, Kristy Wade and husband Roy, Brandon Eldridge and wife Amanda, Rusty Brooks and wife Brittany, and Jesse Kitchens and wife Sarah; six great-grandchildren, Tammi Medema and husband Nick, Dillon Wade, Dylan Land, Izayah Eldridge, Izabella Eldridge, and Hannah Wade; two sisters, Betty Waters and Virginia Faye Cockcroft.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Leonia Baptist Church, 1124 Gillman Road, Westville, Florida 32464 beginning at 2:00 p.m.  A time of visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Committal will follow in the Leonia Church Cemetery.

The family would like to give special thanks to Emerald Coast Hospice for the care they provided for Clara.
