He was born April 20, 1941, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to Louis and Lettie Delegol Williams. He attended and graduated from Tivoli High School, then joined the United States Army in 1964. From that union came four precious daughters: Cassie, LaGaylia, Mimi, and Ivy Williams.

Treasured great-grandchildren: Ian Smith, Charlie Durham, Kai Williams, Jayla Williams, Egypt Izaiah Beard-Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
