Charles Brooks Obituary

Charles Leon Brooks, age 70, of Ponce de Leon, Florida passed away Friday, April 2, 2021. He was born January 24, 1951, in Florala, Alabama to Robert and Gracie Collins Brooks. After graduating from Florala High School, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia. In 1992, he moved to DeFuniak Springs, Florida, and over the years worked several different jobs, most recently as a door greeter at the local Wal-Mart. Charles attended Red Bay Church of Christ.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Sankey.

Charles is survived by one son, Jimmy Sankey; four brothers, Robert Brooks and wife Margie, James Brooks and wife Marjorie, Raymond Brooks and wife Cherie, and Tim Brooks and wife Eutasia; five sisters, Mable Vickers, Emma Jackson and husband Edward, Elizabeth Findley, Shanda Davis, and Tammy Brooks; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his church family.

A service will be held at a later time.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home and Crematory of DeFuniak Springs.
