Catherine Ann Elias

Catherine Ann Elias (Cathy), 52, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida entered into eternal rest on July 17, 2025, in Miramar Beach. Born May 21, 1973 in Westmoreland, Kansas, she attended schools in Galena, Missouri. Cathy and her family moved to Florida, where she graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School in 1991. Driven by a strong sense of duty, Cathy earned her law enforcement certification from the University of Southern Mississippi’s Law Enforcement Training Academy on June 28, 1994. Cathy went on to serve four years in the United States Army, stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Cathy is survived by her three beloved children: Christopher Shane Asher, Kathryn Elizabeth Elias, and Cameron Marie Powley, all of Fort Walton Beach; parents, Elizabeth and James Dinger of Mary Esther, FL; and her sisters, Melissa and Buck McNabb of Mary Esther, FL, Jami and Joey Staniszewski of North Port, FL, and Lisa and Tony Vasil of Lakewood Ranch, FL. She also leaves behind one granddaughter; four nieces; six nephews; four great nieces; four great-nephews; and a large extended family and circle of friends.

Cathy loved her extended family and Florida beaches; playing volleyball and softball; and cheering on her Florida Gators, but most of all, spending time with family and friends.
