Carolyn Bauer Obituary

With heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of Carolyn Frances (Lustic) Bauer at the family home in Navarre Beach, Florida on 1 May 2025 at the age of 83. Carolyn was born in Akron, Ohio on 18 February 1942 to Victor Anthony and Frances Robison Lustic. She attended public schools in the Akron area. At the University of Akron, she was a sorority sister of Alpha Phi Delta Theta, and met her husband-to-be, John “Jack” Bauer. Carolyn and Jack celebrated 61 years of marriage on Thanksgiving Day, 2023. Upon Jack’s commission into the United States Air Force, they relocated to Eglin Air Force Base in 1962 for the start of their fulfilling careers as an Officer and Officer’s Wife in the USAF. Their three children: daughters, Mary Frances and Anne Marie, and son, Timothy Patrick were all born at Eglin Regional Hospital.

Carolyn kept many friends from her childhood, military life, church, work and being a good neighbor. Her dear husband, John “Jack” William Bauer, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Bauer of Oceanside, California and Anne (Dennis) Ogan of New Orleans, Louisiana. Her son, Timothy, preceded her in death. “Gramma Bauer” is survived by her much-loved twin grandsons, Jack Connor Ogan, a recent graduate of Loyola of New Orleans and Mason Timothy Ogan, a University of Alabama student. Carolyn is survived by her brother, Richard Anthony Lustic of Medina, Ohio. Her sister, Donna Lustic Householder has also preceded her in death. “Aunt Carolyn” is also survived by many nephews and nieces around the country.
