Carlton Delano Bowers went to be with the Lord Monday morning September 21, 2020. He was 79 years old. He died peacefully at home with his wife Eloise by his side.
Carlton was born on November 5th, 1940 in Opp, Alabama and was the son of Edmon and Bertha Bowers.
Carlton was a well-respected home builder and developer in Pensacola, Florida and Helen, Georgia for many years. He was a past president of the national Home Builders Association. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1965. He loved the mountains of North Georgia and was an avid pilot and motorcyclist enjoying many trips to the mountains. His life was lived to the fullest as he always had a smile on his face and loved to tell stories of his many adventures.
Carlton is survived by his wife Eloise Moriarta Bowers, his daughter Mary Yvette Pope, son in law Billy Pope and two Grandchildren Bud Pope and Kayla Pope. He left behind a sister and brother in law Norma and Wayne Rudd, and several nieces and nephews. He also had a stepson David, step daughter Paige, and three step granddaughters Samantha, Shelby, and Macey, who all adored him.
Carlton Bowers was a true believer in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and never lost faith even during the most trying times and knew that one day he would be in the Kingdom of Heaven.
A memorial service will be held at his favorite place, the North Georgia mountains at a later date. He will be missed dearly.
