Brenda Gail Hudson

Brenda Hudson went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 2, 2025.The daughter of Reta Turner Barnes, she was born in Opelika, Alabama January 3, 1961. After marriage, she resided in Westville, Florida with her husband, Jerry Hudson, and her children. Brenda worked diligently as a homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother among other occupations. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends. She trusted God for her salvation and always looked forward to going home to be with Jesus in Heaven.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Reta Turner Barnes; two sisters, Rita Faye Barnes and Peggy Elaine Barnes; brother, Huey Barnes; a loving mother-in-law, Jennie B. Hudson; and father-in-law, William Eddie (Bud) Hudson; and several others.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Hudson; two sons, Jason William Hudson and Lowell Brian Hudson; daughter, Kelly Denise Hudson Layton, and their spouses; five grandchildren, Allen William Hudson, Shealeigh Marie Hudson, Kearstyn Railee Hudson, Anna Grace Hudson, and William David Layton; step-grandchildren, Cody Shirah and Katlyn Yon; and an enormous number of friends and other family members.

Brenda will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but we know we will see her again on that glad reunion day in Heaven.

Funeral services will be held, Friday, February 7, 2025 at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433 beginning at 11:00 a.m.  A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Committal services will follow at Corinth Cemetery.
