Beverly Biehl Obituary

Beverly Nelsen Biehl was surrounded by her love ones when she passed on April 11, 2021. She was 94 years old.

Beverly was born in Joliet, Illinois, October 21, 1926 to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Nelsen. When Beverly was 13 years old, her family relocated to Mobile, Alabama where she attended Barton Academy and graduated from Murphy High School. In 1944 she married Lloyd T. Biehl and had four children. They raised their oldest child, a daughter, in Mobile, Alabama before relocating to Mary Esther, Florida in 1965, where they raised their three sons.

While living in Mobile, Alabama, Beverly was employed with the Mobile City Recreational Department where she was the Playground Director. She was also a member of the neighborhood Garden Club and a sorority mother for her daughter's sorority. In Florida, Beverly was employed with the Okaloosa County School Board until her retirement. Beverly enjoyed life to the fullest and knew how to have a good time. She and a group of ladies formed a Bunco group that met once a month. This group remained active for over 40 years. Beverly made sure the month of December was the month she held Bunco in her home because Beverly loved decorating her house for Christmas. She also loved playing cards, bowling, playing softball and volleyball, getting massages, going to the casinos in Biloxi, and traveling. Her motto was, "Have bags, will travel," because she was always ready for an adventure.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband of over 75 years, Lloyd T. Biehl; her parents; her brother, Harold Nelsen; and her sister Constance "Sissy" Groom.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Biehl Wilson (Buddy); sons, Jaime M. Biehl (Brenda), Mark J. Biehl (Marty), and Brian K. Biehl (April); grandchildren, Lori Wilson Wilcher, Sam Wilson, Chris Wilson, Justin Biehl, Ashley Biehl, Cassondra Biehl, and Crystal Biehl; 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by one sister, Bunny Meyrick of Daphne, Alabama; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Friday, April 16, 2021 at Davis Watkins Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Beverly will be taken to Mobile, Alabama on Saturday, April 17, 2021, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Pine Crest Cemetery. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021. She will have made full circle birth to death.
