Bettie Williams Obituary

Deaconess Bettie Mae Williams, a dedicated servant of Christ, was called home to the Lord Sunday, June 28, 2026. She was born March 24, 1946, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to Eddie and Louise Barker Brown.  She attended and graduated from Tivoli High School where she was a majorette in the band. Bettie worked at Professional Products as a seamstress for twenty-seven years. She dedicated her services to the community by making dresses and hemming pants for many years. In her spare time, she loved watering her flowers and could grow anything with the touch of her hands.  She also loved to fish and most of all spend time with her family. She was a faithful member of Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church and loved the Lord with all her heart often reminding us to pray. Bettie married the love of her life Charles Edwin Williams, on June 29, 1968. From that union came four precious daughters: Cassie, LaGaylia, Mimi, and Ivy Williams.

Bettie, AKA “Mamaw”, leaves behind the legacy of her grandchildren: Alexandria Durham, Keenan Williams (Shanice), Alfonza Glenn, Jr., Izaiah Williams (Devany), Khariya Jackson (Mekhi), Kazeric Freeman, Jr., Alissa Bembow, Isis Pouncy, Micah Williams, Indya Campbell, Chance Williams, and Iaomi Carson. Treasured great grandchildren: Ian Smith, Charlie Durham, Kai Williams, Jayla Williams, Egypt Izaiah Beard-Williams; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Williams and her parents, Eddie and Louise Brown.
