Betsy N. Goolsby, 89, of Navarre, Florida, passed away peacefully, Thursday evening, August 11, 2022 at Covenant Care in Pensacola, Florida. Born in Richmond, Virginia on July 16, 1933 to William Edward and Lucille Evelyn (Staples) Neale, Betsy passionately enjoyed all God's wonders; she loved nature, birds, and trees. A dedicated wife and mother, Betsy graciously gave of her time and energy not only to being a homemaker, but a Bible study teacher, as well; sharing the Word of God to all in need.
Betsy was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Colonel John "Ken" Goolsby; sons-in-law, Kris Zinn and Michael MacGregor; and brother, Robert K. Neale. Betsy is survived by her son, John A. Goolsby (Kathy) of Land O' Lakes, Florida; daughters: Jan L. Zinn of Pensacola, Jill A. MacGregor of Navarre, and Jeannie B. O'Connor (Jason) of Navarre; grandchildren: Kristy Frazee (John) of Fabius, New York, Lee Zinn (Crystal) of Navarre, John Zinn (Rachel) of Austin, Texas, Sarah Goolsby (Bryar) of Tampa, Florida, and Matthew Goolsby, also of Tampa; and five great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home in Fort Walton Beach, Florida with Pastor Tim Sheldon officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Committal service will be Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida;
