Beth Lund Sampsel passed away April 10, 2026 at 93 years young. She was born February 12, 1933 at Colome, South Dakota, but grew up in Brookings, South Dakota. She graduated from the University of South Dakota with a BA degree in English/Education and taught school in California and Texas. Beth married Ted K. Sampsel on August 4, 1956 and they raised four sons in the Houston, Texas area. Beth and Ted moved to Hot Springs Village, AR in 1993. She moved to Destin, FL in 2023 to be closer to family and the beach.
Beth was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and National Panhellenic, and was active in AAUW, Village Roadrunners, Village Players, WGA Social League and Church for many years. She and her husband traveled extensively across the country in their RV and supported Habitat for Humanity projects along the way.
She is survived by her four sons: Todd and wife, Patricia, of Wimberly, TX; Kirby and wife, Laura, of Destin, FL: Jay of McCall, ID; and Erik and wife, Jill, of McKinney, TX. She was blessed with six grandchildren: Craig, Lauren, Claire, Tyler, Hailey and Kara along with two great-grandchildren, Mason and Naomi. Beth was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
