Barry Lee Sayers, age 64, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023, at his home in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He was born October 16, 1959, in Martinsville, Virginia to Donald Ray Sayers and Myra Wohlford Sayers. After graduating from high school, Barry proudly served his country in the United States Army.
He dedicated forty years of his life to a job he enjoyed, managing and maintaining Burnt Pines Golf Course in Sandestin, Florida.
Barry was a quiet man of few words, but when he spoke people listened. In his spare time, he loved being outdoors and enjoyed gardening and piddling in his shop, working on small projects.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Jerry Williams.
Barry is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Mandy Sayers; daughter, Amber Lee Skinner and husband, Dylan; grandson, Jensen Lee Skinner, his “little buddy”, of whom he thought the world; two sisters, Deb Fowler and husband, Marvin, and Angie Williams; brother, Dean Sayers; niece, Amy Bear and husband, James; and two nephews, Houston and Cody.
