Barbara Hackney Stillings

Barbara Hackney Stillings of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida passed away on May 21, 2026 at the age of 100.  She was born March 27, 1926 in Barnwell, South Carolina to the late Ollie Lee Hackney and Charlotte Gigniliat Hackney.

Barbara was married to late Rocky Stillings on February 3, 1957 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida and spent 63 wonderful years together. 

Most of Barbara’s career was a school educator for over 25 years.  She finished her teaching career at Shalimar Elementary.  She was the most generous and affectionate person you could ever meet.  Anyone that crossed her path realized what a sweetheart she was.  Barbara was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother.  She will be greatly missed by everyone and her legacy of love and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. 

Barbara is survived by her children, Eileen Cox, Matt Stillings and Mark Stillings(Vicki); grandchildren, Lauren Stillings, George Stillings, Sean Stillings, Paul Cox, David Cox and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and their friends.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Lawrence Hackney, Ollie “Trez” Hackney, Russell Hackney, Rodney “Pill” Hackney; sister, Martha Ann “Mutt” Warren and her beloved daughter in law, Cindy Stillings.

A small family only service will be held at a later date.
