Barbara Jean Fenster

Mrs. Barbara Jean (Clark) Dixon Fenster, affectionately known as “Fat,” was born on September 5, 1939, to the late Mr. Eddie Clark and Mrs. Mattie Mae Sherman Clark in Molena, Georgia. She entered her heavenly rest on May 12, 2026, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, surrounded by her loving family.

She received her education through the Pike County Public School System and, at a young age, confessed her love for Christ. She was a proud member of Covenant Baptist Church in Florida City, Florida.

At an early age, Barbara married her first husband, Mr. Roy Lee Dixon Sr., and to this union five children were born. She later began her career with Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer, where she met her second husband, the late Mr. Edward Fenster. They remained together until he preceded her in death in 2016.

After 30 years of dedicated service, Barbara retired from Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer. In retirement, she found joy in baking, gardening, and dancing. She had a vibrant spirit, loved people deeply, and was loved by all who knew her. Always the life of the party, she brought laughter, warmth, and light wherever she went. To her family, she was truly their Queen.

She leaves to cherish her lovely memories her loving children, Ms. Rosalind Crocker of Miami, FL, Mr. Roy Lee Dixon (Chanel) of Apopka, FL, Ms. Jacqueline Dixon of Clermont, FL, Mr. Randall Laville Dixon of Fort Walton Beach, FL; a host of grandchildren, great grands, great-great grands, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road Northeast, Fort Walton Beach, FL, 32547.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Davis Watkins Funeral Home beginning at 12:00 p.m. A repast will immediately follow the service.
