Arthur Mahon

Arthur W. Mahon Jr. “Artie”, 90, of Miramar Beach, Florida, died January 30, 2021, at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. 
He was born April 26th, 1930, in Glenfield, NY, the son of the late Martha A. Jones Mahon and Arthur W. Mahon Sr.  He was the youngest of 8 siblings who predeceased him.  On October 8th, 1983 in Watertown NY he married Sandra K. Bartholomew, who survives.
He graduated from Galeton Area High School in 1948 and Jefferson Community College with an Associate degree in Criminal Justice.  
He served in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army.  In 1991 he retired as a New York State Corrections Officer.
Art was a lifelong member of the American Legion, VFW, Moose International, and Elks Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years; his children, Jackie Flack of Mansfield, PA,  Ronnie Mahon of McColl, SC,  Scott Mahon (Gail) of Gaines, PA, Michelle Piaquadio (Chris) of Fort Walton Beach, FL,  Wade Putman (Shelley) of Westfield, PA, Todd Putman of Gaines, PA, Brandon Mahon (Amy) of Galeton, PA, Jody Danner (Ron) of Gaines, PA; step-children; Craig Bartholomew (Sarah) of Tampa, FL, Darcy Pappas of Albany, NY, and Clark Bartholomew (Tanya) of Tampa, FL; 26 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Friday, February 5th from 2-4 pm at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 492 East Pine Ave., Crestview FL.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Covid-19 protocols will be followed.  Masks and social distancing are required.
