Annie Janette Mills

Annie Janette Mills left us December 30,2021, she passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus. What a joyful reunion she is having with the love of her life, Lyvon.  

Born to the late Louie and Clara Wise on October 9, 1938, in Samson, Alabama. Her early years were there and during World War II the family lived at White Point which served as housing for the civilian workers at Eglin and like most folks they got sand in their shoes and never left. She attended Choctawhatchee High where she meets Lyvon Mills and they married December 18, 1954, and then I showed up in late 1956. She was a homemaker for her family for her early years. Ventured into the working world with the Plank family in the floral business and then went to worked for Doctor Hollingworth’s dealerships for 25 years. She retired early and changed her city life-style to an outdoor one for Lyvon.  They enjoyed a multitude of extraordinary outdoor adventures together before his passing in 2001.

Volunteer work, caring for her mother, dessert chef at Mary’s Kitchen and her family kept her busy over the last 20 years.

She is survived by son, Kenneth Mills and wife, Rita; sister, Joyce Richardson; granddaughter, Darla Bess and husband, Joshua; great-grandsons; Eli and Chevelle; niece, Denise Swafford and husband, Larry; nephews, Mike Mills and wife, Cheryl, Shawn Richardson and wife, Christy; great nephew, Mike Mills Jr., Tim Swafford, J.D. Richardson and wife, Leona and Christopher Richardson; great nieces, Ashley Smith and husband, Ryan, Cynthia Richardson, Shelby Swafford-Jarmon and husband, Scott. As well as 9 great great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at  Davis Watkins Funeral Home, 113 NE Racetrack Rd., Fort Walton Beach, Florida 32547. Visitation will begin January 5, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. and services at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
