Annie Lillian Cresse has gone to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 88. Al, her beloved husband of 67 years, was by her side as she passed peacefully in her sleep on May 26, 2021 at the Brookdale Clare Bridge Memory Care unit in Destin, Florida.
Lil, as she was known by most, was born in 1932 and raised on a farm in Whigham, Georgia owned by her parents John Emery and Sarah Hall. She met Alfred S. Cresse in Albany, Georgia while studying in technical school. There, they married in 1954 and Lil began a new life as the wife of a military man. Lil and Al made homes in Tampa, Biloxi, Omaha, El Paso, and a small village in England to name a few. Lil maintained the home front while Al served in Korea, Greenland, and the Artic Circle. Lil gave birth to her son Craig in 1961 followed by Jeff in 1965. After Al’s military retirement in 1971, they made their home in Tallahassee, Florida and remained there for over thirty years. Lil worked for the Leon County Clerk of Court and retired from that service. Lil and Al ultimately moved to Destin, Florida to be with their grandchildren. Lil is proceeded by her parents; and her brother, Earl Hall. She is survived by her husband; her sisters, Wilma Sanders and Nell Broxson; her sons, Craig Cresse and Jeff Cresse; her daughter in law, Kathleen Cresse; and her grandchildren, Zach Cresse, Kierstin Cresse, Caroline Lathi and Katrina Lathi.
