Annette Geffert Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce that Annette D. Geffert, 79, passed from this life Sunday, June 29, 2025, at her home in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. She was surrounded that day by many family and friends then slipped away that evening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Geffert; her daughter, Michelle Geffert; her brothers, Donny Ray Marlow, LC Marlow, LD Marlow, and David Marlow; as well as her second husband, David Rowe. She was born October 2, 1945, to Lonnie Marlow and Monette Marlow. Annette has lived in DeFuniak Springs for many years but was originally from Ebro, Florida and was of the Pentecostal faith.

She is survived by her three sons, Greg Geffert of Livingston, TX, Gary Geffert (Christine) of Crestview, FL and Glenn Geffert (Pam) of Freeport, FL; sisters, Argie Beach, Shirley (Truman) Myers; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Annette loved the outdoors often camping, target shooting, fishing, and gardening. She also loved to ride her motorcycle which was a present to herself when she turned 70, and spending time with family. Annette will be remembered for her love of southern traditions, family, and her many dogs.

Annette requested she be cremated since “I want my ashes scattered into the wind so I can just keep going”.   Her family plans to hold a potluck barbecue and “Celebration of Life” to share memories with each other on July 19,  2025, beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the Mossy Head Community Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name to the American Cancer Society to help their work to find a cure for this terrible disease.
