Ann Marie Brown passed away at her residence, The Meridian at Westwood, on January 21, 2025, at the age of 88. Her life began on June 2, 1936, in Arlington, Massachusetts. Her foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Ego, took her in at the age of 2, along with her twin brother and two sisters.
Upon completion of high school, Ann Marie started her career in Civil Service at Otis Air Force Base on Cape Cod, MA. After hearing many stories about traveling overseas, she transferred to Bangkok, Thailand. She stayed two years and was then transferred to Ubon Royal Thai Air base in Thailand. At Ubon, she served as the Wing Commander’s secretary. It was here that she met her future spouse, Major Charles J. Brown. After completion of their service in Ubon, they started their married life at Eglin AFB. Following many transfers and promotions, Ann Marie retired from civil service along with her husband, Colonel Brown, USAF (Ret).
Ann Marie is survived by her husband; and her twin brother, John Shedd. She is preceded in death by Charles’ son, Steve; siblings, Betty Tieso, Marie Hamilton, Kay Kowslowski, and Libby Stolpe; as well as, her most precious and loving cat, Mischief.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Meridian at Westwood on June 2, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Atrium. All whom knew Ann Marie are welcome. A funeral service will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, where she will be interred.
