Angela "Angie" Michael Marino

Angela “Angie” Michael Marino, age 54, passed away in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Thursday, July 2, 2026.  Angie was born July 5, 1971 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Michael Graviss and Andrew Philip Marino.  She worked in the medical field communicating with insurance companies and supervised the ordering of medications when she wasn’t busy raising her two son’s who were her absolute joy.  Her colleagues felt very kindly of her especially when she brought her fabulous seafood gumbo to work that I think she made from every living creature in the sea, for all to enjoy.  She loved to cook different recipes and was very good at it, she also supplied her office with bags of chocolate candy.  She also took it upon herself to feed, water and give comfort and shelter to a group of stray cats behind her building, she was generous to a fault. 

During Angie’s childhood she lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Huntsville, Alabama, Montgomery, Alabama, Niceville, Florida, and Fort Walton Beach, Florida.  During her adult life, she lived briefly at Ft. Polk in Louisiana, Georgia and Charleston, South Carolina.  Angie had many hobbies besides making friends with any animal that came her way.  She took ballet and performed for three years at Christmas in the Nutcracker.  She played a little baseball, she played the clarinet in the Ft. Walton Beach High School Marching Band, at one time playing first chair.  She also was in the flag corp performing half time during high school football games.  She was very crafty with decorations and gifts.  She also did beautiful needle point pictures that she gave away as gifts.   

Angie is survived by her son, Cody Michael Urenda; her granddaughters, Gracey and Veronica; her mother, Michael “Mike” Graviss Marino; her brother, Andrew “Drew” Miles; niece and many nephews and grandnephew’s.  She is preceded in death by her son, Collin Nicholas Urenda and her father, Andrew Philip Marino. 

Visitation will take place on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 1:30 p.m., Davis Watkins Funeral Home, 113 NE Racetrack Road, Ft. Walton Beach, FL 32547.  Memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Chaplain Jeff Ryan will officiate the service. 

Angie’s dream was to swim with the dolphins, and she will get her dream by her son and her mother at a later date.
