Amelia Rees Obituary

Amelia Lynn Rees, 75, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born Amelia Lynn Weller on June 24, 1950, in Bethesda, Maryland, she was the beloved daughter of Ralph and Marion Weller.

Lynn spent her lifetime bringing warmth, grace, and light to everyone who knew her. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished grandmother, and a steadfast friend whose kindness left a lasting impact on her community.

Lynn had a deep passion for serving children and dedicated her life to their growth and well-being. She earned Master’s degrees in both Special Education and Theater Arts, channeling her talents into a fulfilling, 40-year career as a passionate educator.

Beyond her career, Lynn was best known for her profound compassion, her wonderful sense of humor, and her unwavering devotion to her family. She found great joy in the simple, beautiful pleasures of life—whether she was attending Bible studies, spending time with her children and grandchildren, or simply relaxing with her husband, lost in a good book. Her family was her greatest pride, and she poured her heart into nurturing and supporting them through every stage of life.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard James Rees; her five children, Pippin Freed, Emily Beelen, Micah Rees, Chelsea Hill, and Justin Morris-Rees; and her six cherished grandchildren, Isley Beelen, Immanuel Beelen, Cecelia Hill, Audrey Freed, Finley Hill, and Archie Hill. She also leaves behind a close-knit circle of extended family and dear friends who will miss her presence daily.

Lynn’s legacy of love, strength, and quiet grace will live on forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

A service to celebrate Lynn's life will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Glen Haven Chapel (Washburn-McReavy) at 5125 W Broadway in Crystal, MN. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with  an 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service. A luncheon will follow at 12:00 noon.
