Alphonso Gee, Sr. Obituary

Alphonso Gee, Sr. was born February 28, 1940, in Chapman, Alabama to the late Scott Gee, Sr. and Lodee Hunter Gee.  Gee passed away April 1, 2025 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Alphonso Gee received his education from the public schools in Georgiana, Alabama, graduating with the class of 1960.  Upon graduating from High School, Gee moved to Fort Walton Beach, Florida where he worked as a cement truck driver.  Later he went to trade school to become a concrete finisher and earned his license.  After obtaining his license, Gee started his own concrete/masonry business called Gee’s Concrete and Styling, operating for over fifty years until retiring in 2020. Gee was a very loving and kindhearted man who was always willing to help anyone in need.  He had the most beautiful, infectious smile (beautiful gold teeth), loved wearing his gold jewelry and dressed to impress any day of the week.  Gee was a huge supporter of many children in the community.  He helped countless people, always with a caring heart and a big smile.  He coached/played softball, loved football and loved trying his luck with the lottery.  Gee met the love of his life, Elizabeth Baker and was married, June 20, 1970.  From this union three children were born.  They were together thirty-one years, married for twenty-five years before divorcing.  He later married Mary Ann Richardson; three children were born from this union.  After several years of being apart, Alphonso reunited with his first love, Elizabeth and remained together until they were separated by death.

Gee is preceded in death by his parents, Scott Gee, Sr. and Lodee Hunter; two sons, Clarence Lee, Jr. and Alfonso Gee, Jr.; grandson, Marion Holmes; three brothers, Scott Gee, Jr., Kaiser Gee, and J.D. Gee; and three sisters, Juanita Gardner, Carrie Scarver and Lithie Gee.

Gee leaves to cherish in his loving memory six daughters, Cynthia Morgan, Kimberly Lee, Sandra Lee, Donna Gee, Tyreka Richardson Bembow (Aubry), and Six Gee; five sons, Alfonso Gee III (Scott), Rico Cargle, Clifton Patrick, Tyson Richardson, and Nitro Gee; one sister, Zora Briggs of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; along with many other family and friends.
